Lower Energy Consumption

Source of Magnesium Oxide: The primary component of MgO panels, magnesium oxide, is derived from magnesite or magnesium salts from seawater. The calcination temperature required for producing magnesium oxide is much lower compared to traditional cement and gypsum materials. While the calcination temperature for cement typically ranges from 1400 to 1450 degrees Celsius, the calcination temperature for magnesium oxide is only 800 to 900 degrees Celsius. This means that producing MgO panels requires less energy, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Reduction in Carbon Emissions: Due to the lower calcination temperature, the carbon dioxide emissions during the production of MgO panels are also correspondingly lower. Compared to traditional cement, the carbon dioxide emissions for producing one ton of MgO panels are approximately half. According to statistical data, producing one ton of cement emits about 0.8 tons of carbon dioxide, whereas producing one ton of MgO panels emits only about 0.4 tons of carbon dioxide.

Absorption of Carbon Dioxide

CO2 Absorption During Production and Curing: MgO panels can absorb carbon dioxide from the air during production and curing, forming stable magnesium carbonate. This process not only reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere but also enhances the strength and stability of the panels through the formation of magnesium carbonate.

Long-Term Carbon Sequestration: Throughout their service life, MgO panels can continuously absorb and sequester carbon dioxide. This means that buildings using MgO panels can achieve long-term carbon sequestration, helping to reduce the overall carbon footprint and contribute to carbon neutrality goals.
